The Islamic Repo Market

The Islamic repo market today is almost non-existent. This is partly due to the lack of a globally accepted Islamic repo structure, but more importantly because there is a missing link in the market place where a market maker or agent would take the role of connecting the demand and supply sides of this market.

Dar Al Istithmar has developed a repo structure (tripartite via our Issuance Platform) that we believe should be acceptable to the large majority of market players. We will utilize our connectivity and our access to Islamic and conventional clients to connect the supply and demand globally.
