
(London, United Kingdom, 20th December 2009) – Dar Al Istithmar was invited to the International Islamic Finance Forum, held at The Grange, St. Paul's to present a research study on the topic of Islamic Bank Treasury and Interbank Markets. Dar Al Istithmar was also invited to speak at the Leader's Table and a number of other sessions including a dedicated session on "Growing Surge in Derivatives Market"
Dr. Sayd Farook, Senior Consultant (Structuring and Legal), presented an 'exhaustive' study on an array of Islamic treasury and interbank instruments, while discussing the challenges for this segment of the Islamic Finance market and how these can be turned into opportunities for the willing. Asim Khan, Executive Director presented unique perspectives on the impermissibility of conventional derivatives and issues and challenges with Shari'a compliant derivative equivalents and the market opportunity in this segment.
