Dar Al Istithmar presents to the Institute of Islamic Banking and Insurance on Shari’a Screening & Purification

(London, United Kingdom, 4th August 2010) – Dar Al Istithmar’s Head of Structuring & Consultancy, Asim Khan, presented a detailed account on Equity Screening & Purification to the Institute of Islamic Banking & Insurance at the British Banker’s Association.

Asim began with an overview of Islamic finance explaining that it is principle based, rather than rule based and hence provides room for interpretation. He then moved onto a detailed account of the various aspects of Shari’a screening including tests for tradability, screening for Islamic financial institutions and common mistakes in Shari’a screening.
